A successful year with many events and experiences is drawing to a close: TeleAlarm Europe looks back on numerous product launches, trade fairs and events. Before the team starts the new year with a lot of drive and motivation, let’s take a look back at the most important events of 2018.
Anniversary: Three years at the Leipzig location
In February 2015 TeleAlarm moved to Leipzig. The reason for the move three years ago was the integration of the TeleAlarm Europe Group into Leesys GmbH. Since the integration and relocation to the production site in Leipzig, our customers benefit doubly because TeleAlarm and Leesys jointly produce first-class products under the motto ‘Swiss Design, Made in Germany’.
Since then, the group has continued to grow. In addition to the development of a new product group in the area of Carephones, the TA7x family, the office space has also expanded and the company structures have changed. Leesys have relocated the manufacture of most of the TeleAlarm portfolio of products to Leipzig, which has led to streamlining of operations.
Product launches for more independence
Extension of the TA74 family
The TA74 family is one of TeleAlarm’s most successful products. In 2018, the TA74 family, which currently consists of a total of four devices, was again expanded. With the TA74-GSM, a device complements the series that has GSM transmission, is fully IP capable and enables communication via SCAIP, RBIP and SIP.
In addition, the device is suitable for the digital fixed network and thus offers the customer an unrestricted choice of transmission paths. Regardless of the available connection, the TA74-GSM can always be placed because it features all possible connections. It is also available as a Black Edition.
The TA74-GSM supports people who lead an independent life in their own home, but still want to have the feeling of security that comes from knowing help is available when needed.
The TA70 Audio Extender for large apartments and houses
The TA70 Audio Extender was developed and introduced in 2018 for large, multi-room apartments where the coverage of the Carephone device is not sufficient. This external loudspeaker with built-in microphone for the TA74 family offers customers a practical addition that contributes to an extra sense of security. The TA70 is characterized by first-class audio quality as well as easy operation and cleaning.
Training and certification
Further training of employees to become smoke detector trainers (Q-tested specialist)
Anyone offering the installation of smoke detectors as a service should only do so in compliance with DIN 14676. In future, TeleAlarm will offer training courses for ‘Q-tested specialists for smoke alarms’ so that you and your employees can adhere to the relevant guidelines and prove this.
The training includes the legal framework and compliance with the important standards (DIN 14676 and DIN EN 14604). From 1 January 2019, the training courses will be held in accordance with the valid guidelines. On completion of the course participants will receive a certificate which is valid for 5 years.
Certification in quality management according to ISO 9001:2015
In order to meet TeleAlarm’s own high-quality standards, the company’s quality management system is audited annually according to ISO9001 by the certification body ‘TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH’. Since 2018, TeleAlarm Europe GmbH, in addition to TeleAlarm S.A., has been certified according to the latest quality management standard ISO 9001:2015. The certificates apply to the areas of development, production, sales and customer service of electronic security and telecommunications systems.
Extensions to approvals and services
TA7x family compatibility with Verklizan
Verklizan is an independent provider of alarm-receiving centres and is the initiator of the UMO platform. This is aimed at all call centres that offer telecare, Carephone or any other services for security and an improved quality of life. In order to be certified as a partner of the platform and to ensure compatibility with UMO, all devices must be tested and approved. With this in mind, we are very pleased that our TA7x devices have successfully passed the test.
Continuous expansion of TeleAlarm Cloud Services
In addition to the development of our Carephone devices, TeleAlarm is continuously working on its Cloud Services platform. A Cloud Services account offers customers simple pre-programming and installation of TA7x devices. In order to use a Carephone, all that is needed on site is the connection of the device, activation by a technician and a test call. In addition, the cloud facilitates any subsequent reprogramming and the addition of further wireless transmitters.
This year, our Cloud Services features were further developed and supplemented by several updates. Among other things, the modification and management of device parameters have been optimized and expanded.
Trade fairs and social commitment
Support of the Nature Conservation Association at the Altenpflegemesse in Hannover
Trade fair appearances are an important part of TeleAlarm’s annual planning as they offer the opportunity to present innovations and discuss trends. In 2018, TeleAlarm successfully participated in the Altenpflegemesse, which this time took place in Hannover. As the leading trade fair for all relevant services and products relating to the care industry, the Altenpflegemesse is a particularly important date in TeleAlarm’s year. The TeleAlarm team presented its innovations, products and services alongside around 500 other exhibitors over the three days of the fair.
TeleAlarm presented its innovations in the area of Carephones and focused in particular on the NurseCall area with its new IP products. In addition, the company made an important contribution to the topic of sustainability, which dominated this year’s trade fair. TeleAlarm not only presented its environmentally conscious production methods, but, as part of a competition run from the stand, also donated 50 cents per participant to the German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU).
TeleAlarm products in the show house in Berlin
TeleAlarm Europe GmbH has installed a Carephone device and the appropriate accessories in the new VDGN advice centre Grundstück und Pflege. This illustrates how the system can be used for everyday assistance.
Visitors can view the TA74 Carephone, a smoke detector, a contact detector and a motion detector and find out how they work together. In the show house, for example, the smoke detector is connected to the Carephone. This ensures that in the event of a fire not only is the alarm triggered, but the control centre is also notified at the same time.
Door and window contact detectors serve as protection against burglary. The motion detector is installed in the show house in front of the bathroom door and demonstrates how an emergency call can be triggered when the resident is not able to do so for him/herself. For instance, if the bathroom is not visited for a long time, the motion detector informs the control centre and checks can be made to ensure the individual is safe and well.
Running for health and a good cause
Having fun together and doing something for your health at the same time – that’s the focus of the annual Leipzig company run. For the third time, TeleAlarm employees took part in the race and conquered the 5-kilometre city course. Not only the runners took part in the event – other TeleAlarm employees strongly cheered and supported their colleagues all the way round. After the event there was still enough time to enjoy the beautiful summer weather together, to exchange ideas away from the office and celebrate together at the closing ceremony of the event.
In November ‘Laufen geht immer’ was also on the agenda – a run in support of the children’s cancer charity ‘Elternhilfe krebskranker Kinder Leipzig e.V.’. Sarah Piehlig from the back office’s order and returns processing department took part in the charity run on the 2-kilometre route on behalf of Team TeleAlarm. With a finishing time of 10 minutes 58 seconds, she achieved a very creditable 6th place among the women runners.
‘What can I say? Running is always possible,’ said Sarah Piehlig with a wink, ‘especially for a good cause. But as a hobby sportswoman I was a little afraid of running. But with this incredibly great support from my colleagues and the great organisation on site, you were already totally exhilarated during the warm-up.’
The event generated a total of 5,500 euros in donations.
Other fairs: Zorg & ICT, TSA Conference and Verklizan Innovation Day
In addition to the Pflegemesse in Dresden, TeleAlarm was also represented at other trade fairs throughout 2018. The company presented itself at the Zorg & ICT trade fair in Utrecht, Netherlands, at the annual international Technology Enabled Care (TSA) conference in Birmingham, UK, and at the Verklizan Innovation Day 2018 in Essen.
The team presented its product lines and innovations at all these events.
