Did you know that the telephone connection should also be checked when installing a carephone?
For your own protection, we recommend a functional test of the telephone line every time you install a carephone.
Play it safe
An error during the installation of the telephone adaptor, a defective telephone cable or an incorrect configuration can lead to the telephone connection no longer functioning properly after completion of the installation.
Test the connection on site
Make an outgoing telephone call and pay attention to the dial tone from the telephone. Also make an incoming call and make sure that the telephone ‘rings’ in the correct manner.
Looping through the phone
Use the connection sockets and telephony adaptor of the TA7x family to loop through an analogue telephone. To do this, connect the telephone through the carephone via the telephony adaptor. This means that the emergency call can also be triggered directly when a telephone is in use or the handset is off-hook, as a priority circuit is integrated in the TA7x.
If telephone extensions in the service user’s property are not connected through the priority switch of the carephone, it is possible that an emergency call will not reach the monitoring centre if the telephone is off-hook, or another person is on a telephone call.
