We are pleased to introduce our new colleague David McArthur to you.
He joined our team on June, 1st as a sales representative in Scotland and advises customers in this function in the areas of new purchases, restructuring and technical problems.
David introduced himself during a short interview.
Sarah Piehlig: David, welcome to our team!
David McArthur: Thank you for the welcome. I am really looking forward to working with TeleAlarm.
Sarah Piehlig: You have already met your colleagues Richard Bailey and Chris Stuart in advance. Surely they have already told you a lot about us. What is your first impression? What do you expect from the next weeks, months and (hopefully!) years?
David McArthur: My first impression is that TeleAlarm is a well-established company in the care communications market. My expectations are to familiarise myself with the products and company procedures over the next few weeks. Introduce TeleAlarm to new customers in Scotland over the next months and hopefully in the coming years help promote TeleAlarm into being the top supplier of Telecare equipment in Scotland.
Sarah Piehlig: The whole segment of care, health and safety is very extensive. Every hospital, every nursing home and also every association has different demands and wishes due to the demands made on them. Can you tell our customers why you are the best contact person?
David McArthur: I have been in the care equipment industry for over 20 years. I have worked as an installer, project manager, service engineer and manager for dispersed units and call systems before becoming involved with sales of the equipment. I know the demands customers face and I am committed to giving them the best equipment and all the help I can to ensuring a good outcome.
Sarah Piehlig: Is there anything you still want to learn professionally? How would you like to develop in the future?
David McArthur: With the transition from analogue to digital there is a need for knowledge. I would maybe like to understand networks better i.e. firewalls, ports, IP addresses etc.
Sarah Piehlig: Every employer is currently desperately looking for competent employees like you. The job market is booming, you could say. Why did you choose TeleAlarm and the nursing market for the variety and selection?
David McArthur: I chose TeleAlarm because I know Richard and Chris, I like their enthusiasm and ethics, which match my own. I have been in this industry for 20 years so would like to commit my endeavours to a company striving to deliver top products. There are not many industries where you can help make a difference to people’s lives for the better.
Sarah Piehlig: But now we’d also like to know something about you. What helps you to “switch off” after a long working day?
David McArthur: Unfortunately, my rugby playing career is over, but I enjoy watching rugby and crime fiction. Helping my sons through university, Robin my oldest son is studying for a PhD helping bees and Lewis my youngest has just completed his BSc in biology that keeps my wife Ann and myself busy enough after work.
