In the first weekend in September, numerous exhibitors gathered for the nursing care tradeshow “Zukunft Pflege” (The Future of Care) in Dresden. The invitation to this specialised tradeshow, which was organised by the event organiser OVWA, was accepted by 65 exhibitors, who had dedicated their division to persons requiring care, seniors and elderly care. This included numerous social associations, insurance companies, senior home operators, care services and providers of technical aids such as telecare and nurse call systems or car retrofitting to meet the individual needs of the customer. The first nursing care tradeshow in Dresden was attended by 2,500 interested specialists and end customers, which reflected the expectations of the event organisers and with a view to 2017 there was a perception of growth going forward. This year, people could actively engage with us at our booth with Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. This was very well received due to the numerous queries on the care product range of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe and also due to the customers’ interest in technical solutions to increase their own safety and security in everyday life. The desire to stay in one’s own home within one’s own familiar four walls, by using telecare devices and nursing aids, were the most urgent matters raised while we participated in the tradeshow. We were often able to address these questions or, when necessary, to show a way to achieve them. The Order of St. John (Johanniter) also took the blood pressure of the visitors at no charge as an additional offering in our booth. The presentation of this tradeshow was also emphasised in discussion groups and presentations by representatives of insurance schemes, educational institutions and associations. The event organiser plans to have considerably more specialist participants at the second Nursing Care Tradeshow in Dresden in 2017. In order to engage a more diverse and more expensive field of exhibitors, the next event will be held in tradeshow hall 1, which means considerable growth, with 6,700 m² area for approximately 150 exhibitors and a stage for sales campaigns.
